Christmas 2011- Fun In The Snow

And We're Back (After a Very Busy December)

Looking forward to posting some of the hundreds of photos Hannah took of our vacation. But in the meantime, here is one picture of our Christmas.

Trying Out The Trim- lace, beads, etc.

First picture is the historical dress on which this pattern is based. It will be interesting to see how much Abby's dress will resemble the "real" , historic one.

Hope is knitting with yarn.

And Abby appears to be knitting with Hope's hair.

It's Starting To Look Like A Dress (Finally)

The bodice is just the lining at this point. The skirt needs a waistband and a hem.

The sleeves are being held in place. But at least it looks more like an article of clothing today.

Grandma Jo leaves for Slovakia next week to visit her daughter and her family over Christmas and she needs to get Abby to the point where she can finish the dress on her own. Can she do it?

Let us only hope so!

The tree is up.

Now we need some cold weather and snow, like we had for fall. It's been sunny and warmish the past few weeks.

We had to make a few trips to Hobby Lobby for lights...

Abby and Grandma Jo have been working on Abby's ball gown. The Simplicity pattern does not have good instructions and it has been frustrating. I think they are going to have to go rouge with this pattern and do it their own way.
